Just announced on the Allan Handelman Show:

The Firesign Theatre will be on Allan Handelman's syndicated Sunday night radio call-in show "East Coast Live" Nov 28th. If you are not near an affiliated station, listen on the Internet! Also, call in on the toll-free number and ask the guys about tour dates. Allan says that, with this being a holiday weekend, it should be relatively easy to get through on the phones. He expects the guys to come on around 11:30pm EST and if call volume is high he will run the segment as long as possible. So come on kids! Get on it (the phone) and do it every day (well, this coming Sunday anyway)!

http://www.alhandelman.com/ Broadcast live on Sundays from 10:00 p.m. - 1 A.M., EST. You'll need RealAudio or Netshow to listen.
Call in to the show at 1-800-Rock-Talk (1-800-762-5825)
Call Allan's voice mail at 704-548-0907.

Broadcasting direct from my mind to yours,
Nino

FIRESIGN THEATRE - ONLY LA APPEARANCE
BORDERS BOOKS - MONDAY, DECEMBER 13TH - 7:30 P.M.

For the first time in more than five years, legendary comedy troupe, THE FIRESIGN THEATRE, will be appearing in Los Angeles as they sign their latest CD entitled BOOM DOT BUST (Rhino Records) at Borders Books & Music / La Cienega on Monday, December 13th at 7:30 P.M. The evening will start off with a 20 minute "Q & A" session followed by an autograph session by all four members of FIRESIGN THEATRE.

BOOM DOT BUST, the follow-up to their GRAMMY-nominated Give Me Immortality Or Give Me Death, can be described as a shoot-out on the yellow brick road. Taking place on the Fourth of July in the generic Midwestern town of Billville, it chronicles the bright prospects of a boomtown global economy.

The Firesign Theatre (Phil Austin, Peter Bergman, David Ossman, and Phil Proctor) describe their album as "The ultimate wide-screen movie -for-your- mind" and promise this will be their most dangerous and most detailed look at America in nearly 30 years. BOOM DOT BUST continues the evolving story of America's dysfunctional history on disc and will prove to take its place alongside some of the team's most popular albums, including I Think We're All Bozos On This Bus, Don't Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me The Pliers and the Nick Danger albums. Portrayed by some as America's Monty Python and others as the illegitimate children of Mark Twain and The Beatles, The Firesign Theatre has broadcasting roots that run from the Golden Age of Radio to the burgeoning years of FM underground in Los Angeles.

BORDERS BOOKS & MUSIC is located at 330 La Cienega in West Hollywood. Phone number is (310) 659-4045.

BOOM DOT BUST

LOS ANGELES - On October 19, Rhino Records proudly releases BOOM DOT BUST, a new studio album by The Firesign Theatre. This time out, the twice GRAMMY-nominated comedy troupe blows into the gutbucket of the heartland and takes on contemporary culture at the tail end of the 20th century. The album will carry a suggested retail price of $16.98 and be available at record retail outlets or via RhinoDirect at http://www.rhino.com.

BOOM DOT BUST, the follow-up to their GRAMMY-nominated (Best Spoken Word Album - Comedy) Rhino debut, Give Me Immortality Or Give Me Death, can best be described as a shoot-out on the yellow brick road. Taking place on the 4th of July in the generic Midwestern town of Billville, it chronicles the hilarious but disastrous effects of greed and corruption on the town's leaders as nearly everyone has been lulled into a rapturous trance by the bright prospects of a boomtown global economy.

The Firesign Theatre (Phil Austin, Peter Bergman, David Ossman, and Phil Proctor) have described the album as "the ultimate wide-screen movie-for-your-mind" and promise this will be their most dangerous and richest album, in terms of characters, and most detailed look at America in nearly 30 years. (The album will be released on DVD audio in the first quarter of 2000).

BOOM DOT BUST will continue the evolving story of America's dysfunctional history on disc and should prove to take its place alongside some of the team's most popular albums, including I Think We're All Bozos On This Bus; Don't Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me The Pliers; the Nick Danger albums; and 1998's Give Me Immortality Or Give Me Death.

Portrayed by some as America's Monty Python and others as the illegitimate children of Mark Twain and The Beatles, The Firesign Theatre has broadcasting roots that run from the Golden Age to the burgeoning years of FM underground. Throughout their 30-year career, they have produced 25 albums that have sold more than four million copies. In 1997 they were cited by Entertainment Weekly as among the "Thirty Greatest Comedy Acts of All Time."
